It's mango season and love is in the air! Released in 2000 by HAMA Productions as a millennium film to usher in the new era, The Sweetest Mango is based on the true love story of its producers, Howard and Mitzi Allen, and how they met and fell in love in Antigua. The Sweetest Mango" is Antigua and Barbuda's first feature film and the first indigenous film to have emerged from the Eastern Caribbean region. The film is archived at the Toronto International Film Reference Library as Mitzi is a Canadian citizen. The film has been shown in about 28 countries and at major film festivals around the world. The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority in partnership with the V.C. Bird International airport launched the first-ever "Love Lane" for couples in honor of June - The Month of Romance. The "Love Lane" Experience is a complimentary fast-track service being offered to couples traveling to Antigua and Barbuda for their wedding, honeymoon, romantic escape, or special occasion. Available from June 1 - 30, couples are encouraged to register prior to arrival.
